Three years ago, three friends with a shared vision came together to create more than just a company—they set out to offer the world Ecuador’s finest organic vanilla while transforming the lives of local communities.

Inspired by vanilla’s potential as Ecuador’s “green gold,” we committed to cultivating this precious resource using only sustainable and organic agricultural practices.

Honoring Our Roots

Our name, Umiña, pays tribute to the goddess of health in the ancient Manteña culture, a civilization that flourished along Ecuador’s coast between 500 B.C. and 1500 A.D. Umiña was revered for her wisdom and as the protector of her people’s health and well-being.

By adopting her name, we embrace our heritage and reinforce our commitment to the well-being of our community.
